Top Ten Times "Hotel California" Came Up in Conversation Last Weekend

1. Drew and I were playing "Girl Talk", and he had to answer the question: "What song reminds you of the player to your left?" I was the player to his left. And his right. Without hesitation, he said "Hotel California". I asked him why, with drunken indignation. He shrugged and said, "Why not?", so I knew he was for j/k, and moved on.

2. The following night we were at a bar and someone put "Hotel California" on Touchtunes because we weren't at Johnny Brenda's or something, okay, we were at some towney bar in Norristown. And Drew got mad, and whenever Drew gets mad, he tells me I have a drinking problem. (If you think that's bad, my last boyfriend told me I have a whore problem whenever he had a drinking problem). But that's beside the point. So Drew got mad, and I don't have a drinking problem, but I tried to console Drew and initiate a discussion about his feelings, and defeated, he sighed, "I guess I'm just jealous that no one's ever loved anything I've done in my life as much as they love this song". I gave him a hug, and then he told me I had to switch to High Life, because it's the special.
